Decode My Future – Web Development Programme

12-week programme | 18-30 year old LIFT residents | Starts September

Shapeways have partnered up with some amazing partners, including one of the world’s leading tech-giants, to deliver an exciting, holistic and TOTALLY FREE course, worth £3k per head.

The course is aimed at bringing you up to industry level, so that you are able to work as a Junior Front-End Developer and/or your chosen Creative and Digital Industry (CDI) pathway, including entrepreneurship. We will provide you with fundamental training in web-design. Along with our partners we will also provide mentorship and career development opportunities including paid work-experience. • Help to deliver social value and sustainability projects in partnership with clients to meet social value commitments.• Assist the Social Value Manager with social value reporting.• Coordinate volunteering programme from sourcing through to delivery.• Promote volunteering opportunities internally via email.• Organise fundraising events for our Charity of the Year.• Develop relationships with local schools and colleges.• Represent the business at careers events and job fairs.• Assist the Sustainability Manager with administration of sustainability initiatives • Help deliver internal sustainability training and provide guidance and information to staff on environmental issues.

Sodexo is supporting with recruitment for a new role to enable and support the MSD Discovery Science team in their mission to save and improve lives, the Laboratory Facilities Coordinator oversees a well-maintained, safe and reliable working environment in their laboratories. Working within the London-based facilities between London Bioscience Innovation Centre and The Francis Crick Institute.

The role is varied, and requires an organised and responsible person to oversee a range of tasks supporting the lab functions of MSD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a tidy and efficient laboratory environment and for ensuring health, safety and compliance standards are met and maintained. They will also be involved in maintenance and Lab Support Activities to support on-site scientists, including monthly inspections of equipment, filter checks, spill kits, leak checks etc.

The course will run for 5 months from 17th October 2022, in-person at our London office, 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday. You’ll even be paid London Living Wage while we help train you up – literally the opposite to uni.

This program supports 18-35 old facing barriers to employment or undergoing professional transition, who are willing to upskill and start a career in IT.

The training encompasses technical and practical training focused on the necessary skills to become “IT Support Technician”, as well as employability training for learners to develop their personal and professional skills.

A reminder that the program is designed for learners between 18-35. The participants must live in the UK and have a status that will allow them to progress into employment (British nationals as well as refugees and anyone with a pre or settled status from the groups they are targeting to support.

Free programme for 16-24 year olds | Not in education, training or employment

TikTok Creative Academy (formerly known as The Creativity Project) will provide industry insight into the creative sector, along with access to creative professionals who will be sharing their experiences and teaching young people how to get a start in the creative world, including how to build a portfolio, how to create a creative CV and how to interview for those positions.
