As a Sessional Play Worker, you’ll work directly with disabled children, young people, and their families, helping meet their needs. We are currently hiring sessional playworkers to provide 1:1 support for young people with disabilities at an adventure playground in Islington. You will create positive play experiences and should possess a genuine belief in the power of play, along with prior experience working with children who have additional needs or experience in a caregiving role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team under the guidance of the team leader to create a positive, engaging environment for children and young people.
- Support and supervise children and young people as they participate in a range of safe, stimulating activities suited to their age and abilities, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
- Encourage and empower children/young people to participate in activities they enjoy.
- Address the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child/young person, with sensitivity to their religious, cultural, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Use a variety of communication techniques to engage respectfully with all children/young people, taking into account their individual communication needs.
- Provide sensitive physical and personal care as required.
- Maintain open communication with the Team Leader and staff regarding any changes or concerns related to individual children/young people.
- Contribute to session reports for the children and young people participating in the service.
- Adhere to all guidance related to risk assessments for individuals and the venue.
- Stay updated on any changes to the care plans of children and young people.
