Looking for Mentors to match with a WM College learner.
Commitment: a 1 hr training session and then up to 5 meetings with a mentee.
WM College mentoring programme gives you the opportunity to share your expertise and experience to inspire another learner as they embark on their career journeys.
Through knowledge sharing, listening and support, you can help a learner understand the options available to them and assist them in navigating their next steps.
Mentoring can be an incredibly rewarding experience for everyone involved and by becoming a mentor, you will benefit from:
- Enhancing your own skills such as leadership and communication
• Attending mentor training
- Gaining a fresh perspective by working with someone less experienced and from a different background
- The personal satisfaction of knowing you’ve directly contributed to a student’s growth and development
- Improving your communication and personal skills
- Becoming a role model for learners, helping them gain confidence and build their network
• Supporting mentees in navigating the challenge of progressing into training or employment
• Reflecting on your own experience and skills whilst contributing to the success of a learner
