The Opportunity
Impact Hub King’s Cross is expanding its core team and looking for energetic and highly motivated Casual Staff. This is a great opportunity if you are passionate about social impact and ideally have experience in hospitality/customer service. The successful candidate will work to deliver and manage member accounts and bookings, service events and meeting rooms, and oversee the smooth running of the space.
Terms and Conditions
There are no set working hours: staff should be flexible to accept coordinator (front desk) or events shifts on an ad hoc basis. Shifts will cover absences, event bookings, etc.
Our coordinators work early (07:30 – 15:30) or late (13:00 – 20:00) shifts, with some requirement for flexibility in these core hours. If we are running events the hours will likely be between 14:00 – 22:00. Occasional weekend working and the willingness to work nights will be required.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinator/Front Desk Cover
1) Managing the reception and coworking area effectively, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor:
a) Welcomingandregisteringmembers,guests,visitorsandmeetingroomusers b) Answeringandfieldingtelephonecalls
c) Ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and hygienic kitchen space
2) Working to assist with membership and sales:
a) Respondingtoinpersonandonlinequeriesinapromptandfriendlymanner
- b) Conductingtoursofourspaceforpotentialmembers.
- c) Assisting with retention of members including looking after upgrades, downgrades, cancellations
3) Assisting with operational processes including:
a) Spacechecksforcleanliness,healthandsafety
b) Checkingwithcoordinatorstoensuresuppliesremainfullystockedatalltimes c) Ensuring the building is efficiently prepared for the next day upon closing
Events Support
1) Assisting with events including:
- a) Set-up of the space for events on the day, which includes AV equipment, tables, chairs, supplies etc. to suit the client’s request
- b) Help breakdown and clean up the venue post-event, ensuring all equipment and materials are returned to their proper locations
- c) Address any guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of customer service with clients; troubleshoot any minor technical issues on-site
- d) As needed, arrange and set up catering in the events pace, ensuring adequate inventory and smooth service
- e) As needed, act as bar staff, serving alcohol to event guests, ensuring adequate inventory and smooth service
- f) As needed, assist with registering attendees
- g) Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations and processes, including regular cleanup and management of dishes, waste, etc.
- h) Manage event timelines and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule
- i) Clear reporting – provide regular and concise updates to the Events Manager
Person Specification (please say if you live locally!)
Essential:
- ● At least 1 year experience in customer service roles, with demonstrated experience in hospitality/events
- ● A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and an operational mindset, able to work in a team environment
- ● Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- ● A friendly, warm demeanor and positive attitude
- ● Able to deal with enquiries, negotiations and complaints in a professional manner
- ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ● Good attention to detail and ability to follow routine processes efficiently
- ● Willingness to work flexible/non-standard hours
- ● ICT proficient, including MS Office or Google suite and the ability to quickly grasp new software systems including our CRM software (Nexudus)
- ● Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and setting up equipment. Desirable:
- ● Passion for promoting social change in climate, inclusion and/or health
- ● Experience of monitoring health and safety
